L.A.M.B. Shoes, So Chic And Sexy!

January 30th, 2010 Rhonda No comments

This cold weather has me browsing the online shoe stores for new shoes and dreaming about wearing strappy sandals and open toe shoes. If you are ready for warmer weather where you are, I highly recommend checking out the new Spring shoes that are out now. Start planning early the shoes you will need to add to your collection this Spring.

L.A.M.B. Shoes by Gwen Stefani are always so chick and sexy. Be prepared to walk on stilts because the heels are quite high, but you’ll get a bit of help with the nearly 1 inch platform on these new L.A.M.B. Shoes.

The L.A.M.B. Vail Platform Pump has stacked angular-shaped cutouts and overlays in suede and smooth leather atop a partially gold metallic heel and a basket-weave platform. I just love the contrasting textures on this sandal! Available in black/grey or in this black/red/natural style as shown in the image above.

The L.A.M.B. Verdu also incorporates a mix of textures, with mesh lace trimmed with leather. This sandal is also available in black, but I think these colors and the mesh lace are perfect for Spring and Summer!

Gwen Stefani is widely recognized for her eclectic personal style and natural elegance. Her shoe collection is born out of her love of fashion and design and is a reflection of her personal style and creativity.

Charlie Clog From Jeffrey Campbell

January 26th, 2010 Rhonda No comments

Jeffrey Campbell is fast becoming one of my favorite shoe designers for keeping his line innovative and exciting. My fav shoe from his latest collection is the Charlie clog.  This clog has classic lines as you would expect from any traditional clog.  The brass tack detailing very much reminds me of my old clogs from the 70s (if any of you are old enough to remember those).  However, there are also some updated design features that make these clogs a show stopper today.   The strap is convertible and can be worn behind the ankle for support as well as a unique style (see picture below). I also like that the strap is substantial and seems to fit in proportion with the overall style of the clog.  The high wooden platform combined with the gorgeous leather make this clog a must-have.   It’s no wonder these clogs are so popular and selling out.   If you’ve been shopping for the recently sold out black clogs, they are back in supply.  You can find the Charlie Clog in good supply at Jildor in Black or Tan leather.

These clogs would transition well into Spring and could be worn with just about anything casual from dresses to jeans.

Frye Riding Boots

November 21st, 2009 Rhonda No comments

Frye Riding Boots are not only a classic boot but they are currently a popular style among boots trends this season. With all of the sky high heels and platforms, they are also a comfortable alternative to looking chic during Fall and Winter. Riding boots typically have a 1 inch or less heel, making them super comfy, yet stylish at the same time.

Here are some of the latest riding boot styles by Frye…

Frye Paige Tall Riding Boot Brown The Frye Paige Tall Riding Boot features a traditional, timeless silhouette with chic lines defined by a top stitched leather overlay on the front. Shown here in black, the Paige Riding Boot is also available in brown, dark brown, or tan.

Frye Paige Clovertab Cuff Riding Boot The Frye Paige Clovertab Cuff Riding Boot features vintage leather with prominent clovertab hardware laid across a suede insert.  Shown here in fawn, the Paige Clovertab Boot is also available in black or cognac.

Frye Melissa Tall Button Riding Boot The Frye Melissa Button Riding Boot features classic styling with buttons at the top of the shaft.   Shown here in fawn, the Melissa Button Boot is also available in cognac, dark brown, bordeaux, or black.

Frye Dorado Riding BootsThe Frye Dorado Riding Boots have buckle detailing and a 1 inch heel.   Shown here in black, the Dorado Riding Boots are also available in bordeaux, dark brown, or spice.

Frye Shirley Riding Boot The Frye Shirley Riding Boot has hand-antiqued leather and buckle detailing at the top of the shaft and ankle.  The top of the shaft can be folded down or worn straight up.  Shown here in red-brown, the Shirley Riding Boot is also available in dark grey, black, or bordeaux.

Established in 1863, the Frye Company is the oldest shoe company in America. This long history has given them a reputation for making finely crafted, fashionable boots using the finest leathers and quality hardware.

Frye Riding Boots range from $300 – $500, but they are a worthy investment because they will last for years, looking better as the leather ages. You’ll want to care properly for your investment by using saddle soap are a good leather conditioner. This will ensure that your riding boots look great for many years.

Riding boots are meant to be sleek and form fitting, so make sure that your riding boots fit snuggly against your leg. If you find your leather riding boots to fit a bit too snuggly around your leg, try taking them to a cobbler to have the leather stretched.

If you only have one pair of riding boots among your boot collection, black or brown boots will have the most versatility among your Fall and Winter wardrobe pieces. You can wear your riding boots with leggings or with pants tucked inside. They can also be worn with dresses or skirts. Be sure that the hem line is above the top of the boot and, for a polished look, wear tights in the same color as your boots to keep the lines of your outfit.

Farylrobin Shoes: Versailles Pump

November 11th, 2009 Rhonda No comments

The Fall collection by New York-based Farylrobin shoes combines gorgeous leathers with just the right heel heights to keep you feeling confident and stylish. I love the retro styling of these new dress pumps by Farylrobin.

faryl robin Versailles Pump

The two tone upper is striking in black with its snake-embossed leather trim and the tie-front on these pumps is very popular right now. The heel is leather-wrapped and is a very reasonable 3 ½ inches. There is also a ¾ inch hidden platform. This Farylrobin Versailles pump also has a leather lined upper and a cushioned footbed for added comfort. The stiched overlay details, toe seams, and lace closure give this design the finishing touches for a lovely pump! The Versailles Pump is available at Online Shoes

Cynthia Vincent Kala Boots

November 10th, 2009 Rhonda No comments

These fierce boots by Cynthia Vincent will certainly take your look up a few notches. The Cynthia Vincent Kala boot features sexy fish bone style cut-outs, a hidden platform, and a conical heel. The rear zipper at the heel is placed well, and does not interfere with sexy lines and cut-outs on the front and sides of these boots.

Cynthia Vincent Kala

The gray color of the Kala boot is perfect in that it doesn’t detract from the daring femininity but instead makes it subtle and mysterious. These boots would look fabulous paired with gray tights.

Cynthia Vincent only recently expanded her clothing line to include footwear in 2005. In that short time, her shoe collections have gained a reputation for unique styling that is feminine and sophisticated.

Jeffrey Campbell Shoes: Pacific Teal Blue Pumps

November 6th, 2009 Rhonda No comments

These pumps are, without a doubt, my favorite from the current Jeffrey Campbell Shoes collection this season.  The  Jeffrey Campbell Pacific Pump has a distressed vintage stained leather upper in a gorgeous shade of blue teal that reminds me of the ocean on a sunny day. The decorative ruffle atop the front and a ruffle collar at the back give this pretty blue pump a sweetly feminine appeal. These shoes are also have a comfortable 2-3/4 inch heel.

jcpacificteala

Jeffrey Campbell shoes are known for their fun and innovative footwear fashions. While the company is headquartered in Los Angeles, the shoes are manufactured in Spain.  The line has a large selection of styles but these are typically produced in small quantities.   This is why, if you find a Jeffrey Campbell shoe that you love, you should snatch them up it quickly!  Some of their styles are only produced in quantities of 100!   That’s right, it’s not a typo, only one hundred pairs of some styles for the entire world.

You will not find Jeffrey Campbell shoes at any of the larger online shoe stores like Zappos or Endless Shoes.   However, you can see the latest styles that have arrived at Jildor Shoes.  They currently carry a nice selection of some of the latest Jeffrey Campbell styles, including the Pacific Pump in teal or black.

Navy Blue Boots For Fall/Winter

November 5th, 2009 Rhonda No comments

I’ve been drawn to navy blue boots ever since I spotted the Daria Boot by Donald J Pliner. Now I’m seeing many other brands with blue boots in their Fall/Winter collections.   Navy blue boots stand out because they are an unusual color for leather and not the usual black or brown shade that we see and wear so often. However, navy blue boots are more versatile than you would think because they go with so many things and they are a great way to add color to your Fall/Winter wardrobe. Wear them with neutrals, such as black, brown, camel, and grey or with complementary colors such as orange, blues, and yellows.

There are quite a few navy blue boots available now and in quite a few styles, including both knee high and ankle boots. Here are a few of my favorite navy blue boots…

Donald J Pliner - Daria (Denim Oilskin) - Footwear
Donald J Pliner Daria navy blue boots in denim oilskin
feature sexy lace up closure and a tractor platform sole.

Gabriella Rocha - Adair Wide Calf (Blue Leather) - Footwear
Gabriella Rocha Adair navy blue boots
feature gold buckle and studs as well as a very reasonable 3 inch heel.

Vince Camuto - Mikey (Varsity Blue) - Footwear

in the ever so popular ankle boot style. The
Vince Camuto Mikey
navy blue boots feature suede leather, rounded toe, stacked chunky heel, and an inside zipper closure.

Nine West - Halfpint (Dark Blue Suede) - Footwear
Nine West Halfpint dark blue
ankle boot features gorgeous suede and a low stacked heel at 2 inches. At less than $100.00, this is a very affordable option!

If you’ve decided to wear the western trend that is so popular now, here are some navy blue boots in western style…

Frye - Carson Pull On (Sapphire) - Footwear
Frye Carson pull on boot in sapphire
features classic Western detailing with supple, slouchy antiqued soft full-grain leather with a self-lining so it can be worn fashionably cuffed.

Navy boots are a great way complement and add color to Fall/Winter wardrobe pieces in neutral shades. For many, navy is just the right amount of color without being too bright. It can also be classic and looks nice with traditional Fall patterns, such as plaids or tweeds. If boots aren’t your style, try some navy pumps or mules.

Navy comes in many hues and can be difficult to match with a blue outfit. It can also look a bit too matchy-matchy if matching with an all blue outfit. I find navy looks best when paired with neutrals and complementary colors.
