The rain that we are known for in the Pacific Northwest is here and I’ve been thinking about getting a new pair of rain boots.  Style, as well as function, is important if I’m going put aside my cute suede and leather shoes when I go out on rainy days.

Most people think of rain boots for practical purposes…to protect their feet from inclement weather…but rain boots need not be boring or plain.  Classic Wellingtons, such as those made by Hunter, are very popular and never go out of style.   But if you want to be more adventurous, you may want to check out some other styles that are available, ranging from cute ankle boots to knee-high rain boots with heels.

Even though rain boots are made to weather the elements, they are susceptible to wear and tear, especially at the seams.  I have found that the less expensive rain boots tend to do this. Spending a little more for a well-made rain boot is a good investment and will last for several seasons. Even still, well-made rain boots are very affordable and can usually be found in a price range of $60-$200.
