Fresh New Takes On Flat Gladiator Sandals
While they are not as popular as they were last Summer, Gladiator Sandals are back and, there are some fresh new styles to choose from. I have to admit, I did not embrace this trend last Summer. However, looking at some of the new takes on the Gladiator style this season, I am taking another look at this style and seeing how it will fit with my Spring and Summer outfits. As a sandal style, the Gladiator is quite varied. There are plan and embellished styles, skinny and wide straps, buckles and zippers, My favorite type of sandals, and the ones that I wear most frequently are the ones that I can slip on quickly and go! One, maybe 2 buckles are okay, but I don’t want to fuss with a ton of buckles.
Here are a few of my picks for this season’s Gladiator Sandals…

The Kelsi Dagger Colleen Gladiator Sandal (above) is a chic gladiator style. I love the cuff on the heel and the simple, yet elegant, lines on this sandal. These would look great with skirts and dresses. Shown here in black, these sandals are also available in dark brown and gray.
If you like or need (for cooler evenings) a little more coverage on your feet, then the Ros Hommerson Dubai Sandal is a great option. It also has rear zipper entry. If you’ve not tried this brand before, I recommend it for the comfort and fit. I recently got a pair of sandals in another style and they are so comfortable, and stylish as the same time. Shown above in tan, this gladiator sandal is also available in black.
It’s all in the details with this gorgeous B. Makowsky Tara Sandal. Adorned with studs and stones and stitch detailing on the side straps, this gladiator sandal is feminine but not so much that all you see are the embellishments. It also has easy rear zipper entry. Shown here in black, it is also available in Espresso and Khaki. Though B. Makowsky is best known for their handbags, I’m quite impressed with their sandals. Click here to see more styles of B. The Pelle Moda Yearn Gladiator Sandal give a regal update to this strappy style with tonal jewels. Available in several fun metallic leathers, including Bronze (shown above), Pewter, and Gold.
I love the sleek design on the Dolce Vita Mariel Gladiator Sandal. From the gorgeous soft leather to the simple and uninterrupted lines on this design, including the lack of buckles and covered wedge, these sandals certainly have an understated charm that makes them so appealing. Shown above in black, these sandals are also available in dark brown.
You’ll be right on trend in the Dolci Via Neve Gladiator Sandal. This fun and fashionable sandal also has rear and top zipper entry for a super easy on and off! Shown above in taupe, this sandal is also available in black leather at Zappos
.
These farylrobin Wilson Gladiator Sandals (above) have a snake print and are also available in a solid taupe leather. I especially like the covered heel and the way the straps are low on the ankle. This style would be adorable with dresses and cropped pants alike.
The Gretta Geri Sandal (above) will generate interest with it’s contrasting straps of snake print leather and woven leather. The is also a rear entry zipper on the heel. Available in Black, Brown, or Bone.
The eco-conscious Naya Salida Gladiator Sandal (above) is made of chrome free leather and the heel is bamboo wrapped. Simple lines and classic styling give this sandal its carefree charm. Available in black or brown.
Find your inner Greek goddess with a pair or two of Gladiator sandals this season! They are fun to wear and by design (cutouts, ankle straps, etc.), they are sexy. Click here to see a larger selection of Gladiator Sandals.
The usual rules apply when pairing your sandals with outfits. For embellished sandals, wear a simple outfit and not too much jewelry, if any. You don’t want to overload with bling.
Farylrobin Shoes: Versailles Pump
The Fall collection by New York-based Farylrobin shoes combines gorgeous leathers with just the right heel heights to keep you feeling confident and stylish. I love the retro styling of these new dress pumps by Farylrobin.

The two tone upper is striking in black with its snake-embossed leather trim and the tie-front on these pumps is very popular right now. The heel is leather-wrapped and is a very reasonable 3 ½ inches. There is also a ¾ inch hidden platform. This Farylrobin Versailles pump also has a leather lined upper and a cushioned footbed for added comfort. The stiched overlay details, toe seams, and lace closure give this design the finishing touches for a lovely pump! The Versailles Pump
is available at Online Shoes
FarylRobin Shoes: Happy Pump
Here’s something strappy for Fall! I love this pump by FarylRobin. The Farylrobin Happy Pump has some classic features such as the rounded toe and the wedge heel, but its sexy appeal is all in the details. The modified wedge heel is fully wrapped in 2 tones of suede and smooth leather that gives an illusion of a traditional heel.

The Farylrobin Happy Pump also features curved seam detailing on the upper. Sexy straps cross over the foot, providing the finishing touches on this unique, yet polished, pump. Available in black or bordo leather.
Tempting T-Strap Pumps to Transition from Summer to Fall
I know it’s only August, but the dog days of Summer are numbered (at least here in the Pacific Northwest!) and cool September evenings will be upon us before we know it! Sure, there’s still time to enjoy your well-worn, favorite sandals and show off your pedicure. But, with so many great shoe sales going on and fairly good size availability, now is a great time to think about shoes that will transition from Summer to Fall while keeping your feet comfortably warm as cooler weather arrives.
There are a lot of styles that are suitable for making this transition, but t-straps are my favorite style to wear this time of year. The t-strap designs give the appearance of lengthening the leg and are very versatile. They can be worn with anything from dresses and skirts to pants and leggings. T-strap pumps with open toes look fantastic with opaque tights. Try pairing opaque tights with patent leather pumps for a polished look that will easily take you from daytime to evening.
Here are a few t-strap pumps to consider.

As you can see, t-strap pumps can be chunky like the Faryl Robin Venus pumps or they can be sleeker in design like the Pour La Victoire Claudette. Either way, t-strap designs generally give good coverage to keep your feet warm on chilly evenings or whenever that cold North Wind blows!
