Spring 2010 Shoe Trends
Spring is here and all the latest styles have finally made their debut! The footwear styles on offer for Spring 2010 will surely have shoe lovers shopping with glee this season. Some trends, such as gladiators, are back again this year and with some surprising updates to delight.
One of the hottest trends we’ve seen on the runway are Wooden Platforms and Clogs. You can find this trend in every price range and in a wide variety of styles. If you are open to adding the latest updated clogs to your shoe closet, you will find some great styles by Jeffrey Campbell and Stuart Weitzman. However, if you don’t care for clogs, then then you must check out the wooden platforms. There are so many gorgeous styles available!

Wooden heels and platforms are not the only natural material being used. Cork Wedges are all the rage right now and are available in every heel height.

The gladiator sandal is back again this season and available in more styles than ever before! One of my favorite features in many of the latest styles of gladiator sandals is the rear zipper closure which makes them so easy to put on and take off, despite the straps and buckle designs. So, why not tap into your inner Greek goddess with a pair of gladiator sandals
! Not only do they look great, but they are so comfortable to wear.

One of my favorite things about Spring and Summer shoes are the embellishments and this season it’s all about the beading! Colorful and intricate bead patterns adorn this season’s hottest sandals. Go ahead and add some bling to your shoe collection this season with a pair of Beaded Sandals! The colors are amazing and will sparkle under the Summer sun.

Naya Sandals: Eco-Friendly Footwear You Will Love
The Naya footwear collection has a wonderful selection of Summer Sandals this season. If you are not familiar with this brand, they are worth checking out. Naya is an eco-friendly brand that’s does a fantastic job of using natural and eco-friendly materials to craft their shoes. I’m really loving several of these styles from their Spring 2010 Collection. I especially like the bamboo heels. Heels, especially on our favorite shoes, wear out so easily when we wear them everyday. Bamboo is one of the hardest woods (ever see the kitchen cutting boards made of bamboo?) and the striking bamboo wood grain gives the heel a lovely appearance. I also love the cushy footbeds made of biodegradable latex, making them comfortable to wear all day!
Naya Timpas Sandal- shown above in Saddle Tan, this sandal is also available in Wheatgrass (a light green) and Blaze (yellow). These cute gladiator inspired sandals feature chrome-free leather in a sexy and alluring T-strap sandal design, a decorative medallion, leather lining, recycled cork outsole, and a 2-1/2 inch bamboo heel.

Naya Mcloud Wedge Sandal- shown above in Blaze (Yellow), this sandal is also available in Desert (Orange), Moon Stone (Light Gray), and Camelot (Tan). This adorable sandal features a 2-piece wedge design, cork and rubber footbed with leather lining, latex foam in the footbed for cushy comfort, and a leather and bamboo wood wrapped midsole sole for eye-catching appeal. The heel is 3-1/4 inches with a 1 inch platform.
Naya Telluride- shown above in a super soft black and brown leather, this sandal is also available in a beige and tan leather upper. I just love the black and brown leather combination of these sandals and the strappy ankle strap sandal design. The buckle on the ankle strap is nickel free and the footbed has biodegradable latex foam for blissful comfort. The 2-1/2 inch heel is made of sustainable bamboo wood and the recycled cork outsole give great traction.

Naya Maher Sandal- shown here in Moon Stone, this sandal is also available in Black leather. This sandal features a soft knotted leather strap design with a heel sling strap and adjustable buckle for a secure fit. The heel is wrapped in the same soft leather as the upper and features a 3-1/4 inch heel with 1 inch platform.
Naya shoe designs feature chrome-free or vegatable-tanned leathers, natural, organic or sustainable fabrigs, biodegradable latex foam cushioning, natural cork and rubber foodbeds, heels made from sustainable bamboo, outsoles made with recycled materials, nickel-free metal buckles, recycled paper boxes, and water soluble glues and cements. And with Earth Day 2010 just a few weeks away (April 22nd), you can support an environmentally friendly product and have a fantastic pair of sandals for summer. Purple Suede Pumps for Fall
Suede shoes are in this Fall and I love the look of some of the purple suede pumps that are available now. If you want to get the most out of your purple pumps, pick a style that is both classic and versatile.
When deciding what to wear with your purple suede pumps, consider the shade of purple. There are many shades of purple from the darker plums to the lighter lavenders with the darker shades more popular for fall. Purple shoes will really stand out when worn with neutrals. Darker neutrals, such as greys or browns, pair quite nicely for a classy, sophisticated look with the more popular plum shades we are seeing this Fall. For a more flirty and fun look, try pairing your purple shoes with a complementary color in a different hue, such as yellow or blue-green.
Here are a few of my favorite purple suede pumps that I’ve pulled together for you.
| This design by Stuart Weitzman is my favorite! I adore this dark shade of purple and the tri-colored bow in different shades of purple. The Stuart Weitzman Frontpage Platform Pump will add style and sophistication to your dressier outfits. |

Here’s another great design by Stuart Weitzman in another dark shade of purple. The Stuart Weitzman Extra Suede Pump features a peep-toe, criss-cross design on the vamp with high heel and platform. These shoes would look great with jean or a cocktail dress.

| The Casadei 3576 Triple Platform Pump has sexy straps and a zippered heel. The platform is wrapped in satin a lighter shade of purple and beautifully contrasts the rich shade of plum suede. | ![]() |

The Laura Brandon Tammy Platform Pump is a lighter purple suede paired with a beautiful wooden heel and platform. |
| The BCBGirls Dania platform pump has a classic silhouette with stilleto heel and platform. This bright and rich shade of purple would look great worn with complementary hues, such as yellow or blue. | ![]() |

The Nine West Bonfire Purple Suede Pump features and a 2-piece leather upper that creates notches in the vamp and peep toe. The hidden platform and high heel elevate the look. |
| Love the purple suede but would prefer something without the high heel? The Franco Sarto Asia Low Heel Pump has simple lines and features button and strap detailing on the vamp. This is a great shoe for work, but will also look fantastic after hours. |

Purple is a dynamic color and is traditionally associated with royalty, wealth and power. A classic pair of purple suede shoes can certainly liven up your wardrobe this Fall and is sure to get attention when worn.
